Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

Personal Data (Account Holders)

While using our Service, we ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information to create your account:

  • Email address
  • First name and last name
  • Billing information (Processed securely by Stripe, we do not store full card numbers)

End-User Usage Data (Traffic)

When you use UrlEdge to redirect traffic, we process request data from your end-users to perform the redirection. This includes:

  • Source IP Address: Processed temporarily to determine geographic location (Geo-Targeting) and for security (DDoS protection). We do not store raw end-user IP addresses permanently; they are discarded or anonymized after processing.
  • User Agent: Used to determine device type (Device Targeting) and OS.
  • Referrer URL: Used for analytics and source tracking.

2. Use of Data

UrlEdge uses the collected data for various purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the Service (executing redirects).
  • To provide detailed analytics to you (aggregated counts of clicks, countries, devices).
  • To notify you about changes to our Service.
  • To provide customer care and support.
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues and abuse (e.g., phishing detection).

3. Data Retention

Account Data: Retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, data is deleted within 30 days, except for billing records required by law.

Traffic Logs: Raw access logs (containing potential identifiers) are retained for 30 days for security auditing and debugging. After 30 days, they are permanently deleted. We retain only aggregated statistical data (e.g., "100 clicks from US on Oct 24") indefinitely, which cannot be linked back to individual users.

4. Security of Data

The security of your data is important to us. We use enterprise-grade security measures including:

  • Encryption at Rest: All database volumes and backups are encrypted.
  • Encryption in Transit: All traffic is served over HTTPS/TLS 1.3.
  • Access Control: Strict least-privilege access controls for our infrastructure.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Third-Party Service Providers

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service ("Service Providers"). These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
